We have been running our club since 1993, and over the years we have had great Country music acts and also great country music at our venue.
Our supporters have been loyal, but as the people get older and we lose them there is no new blood coming on to the scene which is a shame. Is the scene dying in England or is it the fact that nobody can be bothered to come out and socialise? It is easier to have a beer at home because it’s cheaper and listen to some Cds. Is it because they can no longer smoke at the venues?
We have a great venue and everybody is made welcome; it’s a friendly atmosphere, we have acts from all over the UK and we only charge £4.50 for members and £5.00 for guests which we feel is very reasonable. There is a bar and a big car park 5mins walk away. We have been running for seventeen years every week on Wednesday night but because of lack of support we have decided to run once a month on the third Wednesday. If the club is not supported running monthly, it will be another country music club that closes, which means the acts will have lost another venue to work in.
Finally we would like to thank all the acts over the years that have played at Pardners C.M.C and hopefully will continue to play and of course our loyal band of supporters that are always there, our team that help us run the club when we are not there and the person that does our website and our leaflets. I would like to thank my wife Suzy for doing the paperwork, buying the raffle prizes, making the cakes and doing the door.
